RATING: 0.97 (out of 4.00)

Using props they then rid the town of the problem and charge them for it. It is not long though before they are caught and they only way to keep their lives is to uncover who is stealing children from a town. Journeying into the forest they slowly start to realize that it is no human that is doing it; but an evil queen with real magical powers.

The plot behind this movie I thought was quite interesting; taking various fairytales and giving them a twist. But the execution was terrible. First there were many moments of downtime where the story just dragged along. They could have very easily taken it from the almost 2 hours down to 1 ½ and had the same effect. Another thing that just got to me was that it seemed they couldn’t get down how they wanted the brothers to be. Most of the time Jake (Heath) was the weaker easily scared brother while Will (Matt) looked at things calmer thinking things were tricks; but every now and then it would be Will that let out the girl like scream. These things though were just minor glitches compared to the special effects. You really don’t get a good look at how bad they are until the 2nd half of the film, and then be prepared to hold back the laughter. I actually enjoyed the film for the most part until I had horrible looking wolves and what not charging at the screen. It really took me out of the story and caused the whole movie to seem very rushed. There isn’t much to the bonus features (but when a movie is a flop you can’t expect much either). There are a couple of deleted scenes with optional commentary (they don’t add much to the film), a look at how they made the movie, and the visual “magic”. The one thing that I did enjoy was trying to pick out all the fairytales they used; but I don’t think that was worth the 2 hours it took to watch it.
