RATING: 3.90 (out of 4.00)

With the release of their first album, We Started Nothing, The Ting Tings bring a new spin on alternative pop music. It’s energetic with a catchy tune; sorta like a something you would hear at a cheerleading competition. The vocals of Katie White are great. She has this energy in her voice that sounds strong yet has a very feminine touch to it. Some of the lyrics seem weird though. Calling someone a fruit machine doesn’t make too much sense to me and some of the songs have unintelligible mumbling. Aside from that, there aren’t many faults with the album. I enjoyed the majority of it with the exception of a few songs near the end. This one is definitely worth purchasing.
