In this box set, Naruto, Neji Hyuga and Tenten finally find out the identity of the ghost, Noroimusha. The next mission is also a mini-quest. The daughter of a noodle shop owner is kidnapped, and evidently Naruto helps him to rescue her. The only mission that was actually worth checking was the Sea Country filler arc. It shows Orochimaru’s past and his connections with Anko. The 13 episodes (164 – 177) are spread across three disks. I admire all the details and efforts that creator Masashi Kishimoto puts into this long running ninja manga. The characters are diverse. From their numerous skills and different personalities, to the various locations and story settings, initially these details were (and sometimes still are) the reasons that I like the series. However, they don’t help if the story is not exciting. Moreover, the increasing number of unnecessary filler episodes has made the adventures of Naruto somewhat less enjoyable. Sadly, even the final episode of the set “Please, Mr. Postman!” is a filler episode. As the series prolongs, it becomes harder to link the main quest and subplots. Additionally, the new characters (e.g. Anko, Amachi) that are introduced at this stage are less interesting. One of this installment’s villains, Sagi, is weak and unforgettable even for filler episode standard. If you have been following the series from the very beginning, you will probably be disappointed with this set’s limited revelations and slow developments. The episodes in this set are predictable and definitely not essential. In other words, even if you skip some of them, you would not miss any important information. Even the special features are minimal. Special Features:
