Jenny is heading back to school and is looking forward to a year free of mean girls and hierarchy. But when she doesn’t step into role of Queen and worse yet declares that there will be no ruling group, reinforcements are called in. Blair, out-casted, uncrowned, jumps at the shot to rule once again….even if that is in high school. Leaving Chuck to make his own plans to get Blair’s confidence back leading to yet another showdown between Little J and B.

Lily is back and Serena finally sits down to tell her she will not be attending Brown. But Lily is not happy about the situation and is determined to get Serena back into college. To prove herself, Serena sets out to find a job and discovers she has a talent as a publicist.

Dan meets a cool, down-to-earth girl, Kate, that seems to be just what he needs after being in the spotlight with Serena all the time and the crazy antics of Georgian. Kate ends up being a movie star though and Dan will have to decide if he is up for the spotlight yet again.

Hilary Duff was fine in her role as Kate/Olivia, the movie star that wants a normal life. I’m interested in seeing if they keep her around as a regular or if they will quickly wrap up her storyline. Tyra Banks on the other hand was cast strictly for ratings. There was no point of having her in that role and they could have easily found someone better to portray an actress on the verge of a breakdown.

What we do get out of this episode is Dan trying love again, Serena starting a career and maybe finally finding herself, Blair ready to take on college and make it her own, and Jenny becoming Queen if that will keep others from fighting over it. As of yet we have no insight on what Georgian is planning; but it should be surfacing soon. I hope that at some point Lily will loosen up a bit, you know for an ex-groupie she sure has her nose pretty far up in the air.

The episode was alright, but it sort of felt like a filler one being used just to set up new storylines. I’m curious to see where they will all lead. Certainly one to watch to stay up to-date with all that is going on in the world of the rich; but not one that will have people talking.
