This stands as a decent indicator of the random, oddball humor that is to be found inside. The album is a traditional comedian setup of one CD containing a long single performance and a DVD with a collection of clips from their various shows.
Demitri doesnt take the traditional comedian route of small stories that lead in to each other, with the payoff at the end of the show tying some of them together. He just throws out the opening and a close immediately after in a form of deviate musings, sometimes set to guitar music that he plays. An example from the disc:
I was eating a bowl of cereal, and I had all these questions and comments.
Luckily there was a number on the box.
So I called and said I have a question. Is this cereal as delicious as I think it is?
And I have a comment. YES!
The DVD contains a hour Comedy Central stand-up show and a host of small clips. Some of the smaller videos look like they were taken from a VHS recording of his performances, but he it was probably shot by his family because he doesnt have an army of cameramen with him at all time. I always prefer additional imperfect content over a limited amount or none at all.
I give this CD a solid 45% comedy value. That means that out of all the material, 45% of it will make you smile. And out of those smile-worthy jokes, 45% will actually make you laugh out loud. That may seem like a low estimate, but Demitris goofy pondering are almost entirely entertaining even if you wont physically express your enjoyment. Hes got a good sense of timing and some funny things to say. Give it a listen sometime.
