>> DiCaprio Considering Creed Of Violence

Source: Empire

It’s been a few years since Leonardo DiCaprio strapped on the spurs for Sam Raimi’s The Quick and the Dead, his last time venturing into the dusty deserts of the Western genre. But with Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained (admittedly not a pure example of the films), he’s getting back to it. And now comes the possibility that he's being courted for The Creed of Violence.

Violence has been in development for a couple of years now, with Todd Field attached to adapt and direct the script from Boston Teran’s novel.

Set in 1910 on the Mexican-American border, it follows a criminal called Rawbone who buys a truckload of arms to take to Mexico, where revolution is brewing. Apprehended by the Bureau of Investigation, he is coerced into going through with his plan as an undercover agent, accompanied by Agent John Lourdes, who has a secret history with Rawbone.

Now the LA Times reports that DiCaprio has been offered one of the leads, and while he’s yet to make up his mind, he could end up playing either the criminal or the lawman. Will this make his list? Or become just another scrap for others to fight over in his wake...
