Here's one of the clips that debut on last week's Oprah show. It's Edward finding out that Jacob has kissed (assaulted) Bella

The first OFFICIAL Eclipse clip features the Volturi in Seattle, planning their next move

What can be expected from Eclipse? Most readers will tell you it's the best book in the series because it's chock full of romance, passion, and action! Eclipse has received a PG-13 rating as did Twilight and New Moon, but what does that really mean? MTV breaks it down for us:

“Both "Twilight" and "New Moon" were rated PG-13 as well, but it is the explanation behind their ratings that gives subtle hints as to what "Eclipse" has in store when it hits theaters on June 30. "Eclipse" received a PG-13 rating for "intense sequences of action and violence, and some sensuality." By contrast, "Twilight" was tagged PG-13 because of "some violence and a scene of sensuality" and "New Moon" nabbed its rating due to "some violence and action."
Was "Twilight" notably more sensual than "New Moon"? According to some folks, so it seems. And what's the exact distinction between "some sensuality" and "a scene of sensuality"? Does that mean "Eclipse" will have two or more such scenes? That sound you hear? The Twilight-verse uttering a collective, anticipatory shudder.

"Eclipse," no doubt, will feature its Edward-Bella-Jacob love triangle front and center, as the first trailer for the filmmade clear in March: lovers in a flower-covered meadow, Taylor Lautner with his shirt off and so on. But you can also expect a heavy dose of action — "intense sequences of action and violence," to be exact — as evidenced by the flick's second trailer: fights, fights and more fights. What else would you expect from director David Slade, who also helmed the vampire horror movie "30 Days of Night"?”

Sounds good to me! I'm hoping what's considered the best book in the series will also be the best film.

Tickets for midnight Eclipse showings are now on sale through www.fandango.com and www.movietickets.com However, Fandango is offering a special triology deal. See all three movies in one night! No standing in line and no giving up your seat!

USA Today interviewed the Twio before their Oprah debut. They talk about fame, life after Twilight, and what it feels like to be them. Here's an excerpt:

Although, lately, the frenzy has calmed somewhat, judging by the number of Twilight-free magazine covers at grocery checkouts. "I don't know if this is the actual reason why, but we have gotten better at hiding over the last year," Pattinson says.

"That's totally the reason," Stewart concurs. "They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there's no story. We are just good hiders now."

Such subterfuge includes neither confirming nor denying that they are in a relationship. Yet there clearly is some sort of special connection between the two, what with their playful teasing and personal asides. Let's just say it wasn't Lautner who placed a hand on Pattinson's leg during a portion of the interview.
But all three take their Twilight-related duties to heart, whatever they might require. Stewart even leaps up in a panic at one point, fearing she misspelled a word in her salutation to Winfrey. She checks the book: "Believe ie or ei?"
"I before e except after c," Pattinson responds. She checks. "Oh, yeah," she says with a triumphant fist pump.
Pattinson laughs. "I almost spelled Oprah wrong. I almost wrote Opera."

The actors are keen to know how Eclipse played to the crowd at the screening and are pleased to hear that every element has been heightened: the horror, the romance, the three-way interaction among their characters, the touches of humor that often come at the expense of Edward and Jacob's rivalry especially after they forge a testy alliance to save Bella from a roving gang of rabid newborn vampires.
Stewart says of Eclipse's positive early reception: "It is a well-oiled machine at this point. We have had a lot of time to establish what this thing is about and a lot of time to consider it. And they gave us so much more money this time. So that is exciting."

Pattinson, looking bemused, quickly clarifies her statement. "For the film. The budget."
Stewart is chagrined. "Oh, my God. No, no. That didn't even occur to me. They gave us so much more money to make the film look good!"

The leads did get raises Stewart and Pattinson are taking home a reported $7.5 million each plus a percentage of the gross, Lautner gets $5 million while the production's price tag grew to $65 million, still modest compared with similar franchises.

Yet the few extra bucks seem to have paid off, especially with the effects. Even Lautner's CG wolf alter-ego is more adorable than in New Moon. "Yeah," says the actor, sheepishly. "It was very cuddly. I don't know if that's what we were aiming for."

He waffles over the wisdom of sharing an anecdote about the scene in which the vicious horse-sized beast sweetly nuzzles Bella and she scratches his ear. After a little coaxing, he relents.
"That day I came on set and put on this tight gray spandex suit ..."
"There is dialogue and I talk to him," Stewart explains. "I said, 'How am I going to do this without Taylor?' " So instead of the actress pretending that a massive computer-animated wolf was nearby, Lautner volunteered to be its stand-in.
"Basically, it looked like a Teletubby," he continues about his outfit. "I had this circle on the face but everything else was covered. It was weird. But, yeah, I stood there and would literally bend over ..."
"I would actually pet his head," Stewart adds.

Pattinson, meanwhile, struggled with Edward's rather formal proposal to Bella, which reflects the fact that although his vintage vampire looks 17, he hails from the turn of the last century.
"I was dreading the day it was coming," he says of the scene that was held until the very end of the shoot. "The first time I read the script, I thought, 'This is impossible.' " References to "promenades" and sharing "iced tea on the porch" as Edward explains how he would have courted Bella in the old days especially stuck in his throat. "It's so earnest. I finally convinced the producers that you can play it with a bit of awareness of not being a fictional character. I'm not trying to be part of a Gothic novel."
When Pattinson finally watched it, however, he was pleasantly surprised. "It seems different when you see it."

Their profiles have grown with each film, and celebrity status does afford them the chance to mingle with their own idols. Although, more often than not, the other stars are the ones bedazzled as they request autographs for their Twilight-crazed kids.

"I took a picture with Ron Howardlast year at the Oscars," Pattinson recalls. "I thought it was the funniest thing. I asked, 'Is it for your kids?' He said, 'No, it's for me. I want to have it on my phone.' " Making the situation even odder: Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, is in Eclipse.
Alas, Pattinson has yet to run into his favorite, Jack Nicholson.
Stewart pipes up: "I have."
Pattinson: "What? When did you meet?"
Stewart: "At a screening for Into the Wild," her 2007 coming-of-age drama directed by Sean Penn. "He was exactly like you think he would be."
Pattinson, sounding peeved: "You never told me that."
Lautner joins in. "I didn't meet him but I sat next to him at a Lakers game."
Pattinson, utterly exasperated: "What?

Bits of Breaking Dawn
Last week, the huge news was that Kellan Lutz & Nikki Reed were seeking more money if BD were to split into two films. Lutz & Reed were only singed on for four and looking for a little raise of $1mill each, if there happened to be a fifth film. Everyone's been wondering if this might put the breaks on BD or even if the two might be reacast!

Breathe easy, twifans. Summit has announcement to make:

“Los Angeles, CA May 19, 2010 – Summit Entertainment has confirmed that Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, and Nikki Reed will all return as members of the Cullen Family in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN. These cast members join Billy Burke as Charlie Swan.
Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. The project is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Stephenie Meyer producing. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN is slated to be released November 18, 2011.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.
The family of vampires, to which the leading male character Edward Cullen belongs, is comprised of Facinelli as Carlisle, Greene as Alice, Lutz as Emmett, Rathbone as Jasper, Reaser as Esme, and Reed as Rosalie.”

The kids stay in the picture!

It also looks like the Cullens maybe moving down south. Rumors are swirling that Breaking Dawn will be filmed in (at least partly) in Lousiana. {NOLA.com}

One of them doesn't say a whole lot. The other, however, seems to be significantly more telling as to exactly how serious Summit Entertainment is about moving the production here.
First, Summit this morning (Monday, May 17) responded to my inquiry of last week for comment on the rumors, first reported in a story in The Hollywood Reporter that relied on an unnamed source for its inside information.
The studio's statement came a few days too late for my story -- which ran in Saturday's editions of The Times-Picayune -- and it was unsuprisingly vague. Here's it is, in its entirety: "No details have been confirmed regarding 'Breaking Dawn' aside from the fact that Bill Condon will be directing."
Insert shrug here.
The second, more telling, development comes in the form of incorporation papers filed last week with the Louisiana Secretary of State's office by an agent for Summit and establishing a new corporate entity called "TSBD LOUISIANA, L.L.C." -- which would seem to stand for "Twilight: Saga Breaking Dawn."
Of course, filing incorporation papers is a long way from booking soundstages and crewing up -- but as early signs go, it's a good one that there might be truth to these rumors.”

Yahoo has put together some pictures & an interview to profile the lead new born Riley played by Xavier Samuel

“As the more mature newborn, Riley is tasked to retrieve Bella's scent and later, corral the rest of the newborns to Forks for a showdown against the Cullens/La Push wolf pack alliance. "Audiences can expect a vicious battle," says Samuel, "And I think audiences can also expect a few surprises. Riley and his newborn army are an unstoppable force."
But there's more to this vampire baddie... he's in love!
Not only is Riley Victoria's right-hand vamp, he's also her puppet boy. He loves her and serves her faithfully, but of course she's still in love with James and is only using Riley to get him to do what she wants. "Remembering that Riley still has some human blood pumping through his veins was an important thing to consider when I was approaching the role," Samuel shares. "He's not a purely evil monster."”

Kristen Stewart had her own interview & spread in Elle magazine this month. Check out these scans
