Right off the bat I was highly impressed with the sound on Behind The Lights. This has to be one of the best and most well put together sounding albums from production to musicianship. Crisp clean recording allows everyone to make their mark on the album and vocals (solo and tandem) sound fantastic.
The EP contains five songs, and I couldn’t help but think back to a band like Jars Of Clays. The songs are meaningful but not all together without their pop appeal. Harmonies are fantastic and guitar and drums sound so great together. Every sound on the album is able to move forward in it’s own direction while still maintaining a fluid feel which gives the simplicity of the album such a complex sound.
There are some tearjerker tunes and some impressive tunes that don’t go for the heart but make you stand at attention and give praise to the performance. I highly recommend checking this band out. I can’t wait for a full release from Birds Of Arkansas.
