“The Blacklist” is a crime drama TV show that will makes its season 2 premiere on September 22 at 10 pm ET on NBC. If you need to catch up on the show before the premiere, the complete first season was released on both Blu-ray and DVD this past August. The show revolves around Red Reddington (James Spader), a former government agent that has been a regular on the FBI’s most wanted list. After decades of “being under the radar,” he surrenders and turns himself in. He agrees to help the FBI if and only if he is able to work with a rookie profiler named Liz Keen (Megan Boone). Why is this Red’s only condition and how can he help the FBI? You’re going to watch “The Blacklist: Season 1” to find out.
I have heard a lot of great things about “The Blacklist” and was excited to be able to review the complete first season. James Spader was perfectly cast for Red and does an exceptional job throughout the whole the season. The show is full of surprises and plot twist that will keep you guessing until the last episode. Along with the drama and suspense, the show was full of action and great dialogue coupled with very good writing. In addition, the picture quality and sound was perfect in HD and is expected with anything in Blu-ray formats. Lastly, the bonus content and exclusive features were a nice touch to satisfy fans of the show. This show is definitely worth a watch and comes highly recommended and for those reasons, I am giving “The Blacklist: Season 1” an “A.”
