East of Eli

East of Eli

The actor/producer/musician, Nathan West, released his debut EP, Nothing Ordinary, under his musical project East of Eli on March 30th, 2014. Nothing Ordinary was written in anticipation of West's upcoming production of the independent feature entitled, Into The Mystic. When West was not captivating audiences, in roles such as, Jan in Bring It On, he was growing his musical skills as an instrumentalist and singer/song-writer. A lover of many genres, West draws his musical inspiration from the likes of such greats as Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, and Otis Redding.

What brought you from acting in and producing movies to releasing your own music?

For me, it was the next natural step for me in my career. I wanted to take all aspects of my creativity and pour it into one project and music is a huge part of that artistic endeavor.

Was this music written for the film "Into the Mystic" or did it just become a natural companion?

It was actually written prior to the film with the intention of using the music to inspire the story behind the indy feature.
