The Safes

The Safes

Brothers Frankie, Patrick, and Michael O'Malley are The SAFES. Their father, a working musician, record collector and all around music lover filled the house with live sounds, great records (Little Richard, Magic Sam, & Buck Owens...) and an array of musical instruments. This environment ultimately led to the development of this very special band. The SAFES have that unique chemistry that comes when talented siblings form a band (think Kinks, AC/DC, Everly Brothers, Beach Boys). This chemistry fuels The SAFES' records as well as their live shows.

Pre-show rituals?

Check each others make up and hair, make sure everything is on point. You know, the usual.

Twizzlers or Red Vines?

Ou.... tight race there! Twizzlers win today. Hard to say who would win tomorrow though cause Red Vines are very fast!!

Have you ever dialed 411?

Oh yeah! I used to always call 411 trying to find school teachers home numbers so I could make prank calls. What a brat!

Something you are craving

My Mom's roast beef dinner!!! You have no idea!

I really want to:

Find a super hot space angel and disappear with her into some old rock n roll song transmitted through radio waves 60 years ago. Preferably on a full moon Saturday night.

Do you own anything vintage?

Sure. Tons of vintage stuff. I have an original pressing of Magic Sam's "West Side Soul" . Ain't I fancy!

What percent is your phone battery at?

I do not own a phone. No joke. People are annoyed, but not as annoyed as I'd be if I had one!

Any nieces or nephews?

Yes 14 of the coolest people on earth! And another on the way!

How important has social media been for growing your fanbase?

It's becoming a problem fighting off fans! Someone should police these people, were just a band! Seriously I feel like The Beatles landing in America since the advent of social media. Is that important?

How has the audience response been to your new music?

Bananas! Straight bananas! No joke, now our body guards need body guards! But we're all having fun when the end of the night comes! So that's good!
