Anna Rose: Behold a Pale Horse

Behold a Pale Horse

(Anna Rose)
Release Date:
Tuesday, August 6, 2013

Anna Rose may appear petite and frail but she packs quite a punch in her latest album Behold a Pale Horse. With a booming, down-to-earth voice and smooth melodies, she proves that big things can come in small packages.

The first thing I noticed about Rose is that she sounds like a Janis Joplin or KT Tunstall. She has a very commanding voice that can be fierce when necessary, but also soothing and charming in other instances. Behold a Pale Horse has a very homey quality surrounding with strong acoustics and quality lyrics where neither one ever overshadows the other. It’s a good album to listen to when you simply need to relax and slowdown from the busy hustle of everyday life.

Behold a Pale Horse is my first experience with Anna Rose but it won’t be my last. It’s a little bit of rock with a lot of soul.
