Diane Cluck is a singer/ songwriter from Virginia. Her 7th studio album is set to be released on March 4, 2014 and will be titled “Boneset.” On this album she covers a wide range of topics such as death, wealth and poverty, and birds. She is a unique artist that takes her art very seriously and tries to make her songs as vivid as possible.

When listening to “Boneset,” I had a sense that Diane’s style was very similar to Björk, Sinead O’ Connor, and Alanis Morrisette. Her lyrics paint a clear picture in your mind and are full of her emotions. Diane’s voice has great range and can go from soulful to haunting in a heartbeat. Also, she sings and plays most of the instruments, such as the guitar, piano, percussion, and a toy accordion, on each of the songs. She is a very talented artist that easily gets her point across.

My favorite songs on the album were “Draw me out” and “Why feel alone” because of the raw emotion associated with both songs. This album might not be for everyone, but those that understand it will love it. If you love music that is full of emotion and makes you think about life, “Boneset” is the perfect album for you. For those reasons, I am giving this album a “B.”
