Dora is back with Dora Rocks in which Boots and Dora use their microphone to invite all of their friends to Benny’s house for a singing party. Problem is Benny forgot to send out the invites. Dora and Boots must use Map to find their way to Benny’s and invite all of their friends along the way.

The episode is pretty basic. It’s one of the newer episodes that features extensive singing, some CGI graphics, and a newer look and feel to the series. This time when the characters ask your child to interact there is an already loaded sound recording of children replying to the characters. Not sure if that’s a plus but it seems like something new. Since the episode revolves around a microphone there is a special voice effect as if the characters and sometimes the audience will respond as if speaking through a microphone.

Aside form the main episode there two bonus episodes. I never understood this. If your selling just the one episode it’s totally not worth it. Kids shows are so accessible almost anywhere it seems almost silly to buy just one episode on a disc. If anything I think the collection lacks one episode to make it seem like previous outings that featured four episodes. In any case you get Baby Bongo’s Big Music Show and Little Map, two episodes kids will enjoy.

Unfortunately the total run time for the disc is a whimpering 69 minutes long. As a parent I’m not sure I would pay $10 (Amazon) for three episodes. That seems expensive, especially when the reason the disc is as long as it is, is because it has two extra episodes on it acting as special features and no real special features to speak of. As always, final judgment is yours.
