When a bus load of passengers is forced to run from a vicious motorcycle gang the bus crashes in a junkyard where the passengers must fend for themselves or die.

Formula. Exit Speed is a formula film which uses clichéd aspects to progress itself terrible frame after terrible frame until you reach the end, if you’ve lasted that long. So what’s so clichéd about the film? Lots. To begin with the film follows a young female soldier whose gone AWOL and ends up on the bus. I think you know what happens after that. The bikers who have cornered the passengers in the junkyard don the creepy makeup and the typical bad guy attitude that you’ve seen time and time again in low budget films like this (Think Simon Sez). Finally you have the passengers who are put in the position of either dying or becoming the monsters that have cornered them. Its pretty much cut and paste and the film title Snakes On A Plane come to mind when I consider quality and script here. If there is one saving grace, and you’d probably have to be a fan of trick riding, the motorcycle stunt work here is pretty decent.

The DVD has a ton to offer as far as bonus features go including a digital copy for your portable media device. Other features include a couple of production diaries, a useless bit on the Nomads (the bikers), photo gallery, TV Spots and theatrical trailer (though I don’t recall ever seeing this movie being promoted anywhere at anytime). All around it was a pretty awful experience and a waste of my time. If you can catch it on television and you’ve got nothing better to do, nothing whatsoever, give it a shot. Otherwise you can’t say I didn’t warn you.
