To be blunt, I could say that Filter has gone down hill since Hey Many, Nice Shot broke them those seemingly short years ago. But, the truth is, it wasn't a deterioration of musical talent that changed this band, it was, as much as I hate to say it, growth. They have grown out of using voice stabilizers in the studio that help keep vocals in key, which some might say is a bad thing. But, some of the greatest bands in history, such as Aerosmith, and The Doors, stopped using this method and went on to make some of the best music ever played. To make things short, although it took a few listens (The first of which, to be honest, was a cringing experience), all in all, The Amalgamut truly is a great alternative record.
