Little Barrie is a band I’d never heard of even though this is their fourth release. This boggles me seeing as how much I enjoyed their latest offering Shadow. It was like a blend of 80’s indie psychedelic rock, blues, alternative, jazz and rock. It gave off that real seedy, smoke filled room, hostile atmosphere but cool vibe if you get what I’m saying.

The album is pretty dark feeling as most of the tracks are slow and ominous with a lot of blues sounding guitar and bass combinations. Vocals have a slight echo which makes you think of an empty dark place and lead singer Barrie Cadogan’s vocal delivery is sharp and edgy with a real bite to it.

It’s hard to compare this band to any other band to pinpoint the sound but it’s definitely an experience that should grab your attention and keep you listening all the way through. I’ve listened to the album pretty much four times back to back and never lost interest in any one track. Really cool sounding and well worth checking out.
