Morrissey - 25: Live

Morrissey. The man. The myth. The legend. The single name. The solitary voice. And 25: Live is a celebration of his 25 years as a solo artist. If you like that sort of thing.

25 years after leaving The Smiths, Morrissey is still making music. And in March of this year, he put on a special concert at Hollywood High School. An intimate show with some of his most loved songs played for some very dedicated fans. They sing along with every word, and when given the chance they speak of how these songs changed their lives.

I always thought The Smiths were okay, but Morrissey left me flat. Except one song. I liked Tomorrow. But clearly it wasn't loved enough to make the set list here. Making the cut are  "Alma Matters", "Ouija Board, Ouija Board", "Irish Blood, English Heart", "You Have Killed Me", "November Spawned A Monster", "Maladjusted", "You're The One For Me Fatty", "Still Ill", "People Are The Same Everywhere", "Speedway", "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore", "To Give (The Reason I Live)", "Meat Is Murder", "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want", "Action Is My Middle Name", "Everyday Is Like Sunday", ""I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris", "Let Me Kiss You", and "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side".

The concert is well played, and well filmed... I'm just not a fan. If you are though, Morrissey's 25: Live is probably a fantastic show to watch.
