"Pieces of April” is a slightly different type of Thanksgiving story. April was the rebellious, troubled daughter that her family often wishes to forget. However finally meeting the right type of guy, April has decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner for her family. But with her turkey held hostage, and her boyfriend out most of the day: this Thanksgiving might just push her over the edge.

Katie Holmes does a wonderful job portraying April. This story is really touching and demonstrates how not all families are perfect like they pretend to be. This movie is a great holiday movie because it makes you thankful that these things aren’t happening to you and it makes you want to reach out to a family member you may have lost contact with. Since this is barely an hour long I feel everyone should see this movie. It might just remind you of where you came from.
