Cameo Appearance

Pete Best, the original drummer for The Beatles who was kicked out of the band, makes an appearance.

Rainn Wilson stars in the hilarious comedy about an ex-rocker of the highly famous band Vesuvius. When he plays a gig with his dorky nephew, Matt (Josh Gad), and his band, Fish gets sucked back into the rocker lifestyle he once loved.

Having seen the film twice in theaters and now on DVD, I say that it still remains hilarious. The cast is excellent with Wilson taking the lead along with Gad, Teddy Geiger, and Emma Stone as his band mates. You also have appearances by Christina Applegate and Will Arnet to make it even better. The Rocker is a film that is entertaining for both kids and adults. For you music fans out there, there is plenty of tunes to listen to. Geiger is an actual musician so the music is decent as well, specifically the lyrics. There are tons of little jokes about famous musicians including The Beatles and Moby, just to name a few. Whether you like comedy or music, you'll enjoy The Rocker.

The film is good but the DVD is even better. There are a ton of bonus features. Commentary, deleted scenes, gag reels, music videos, and a whole bunch more fill the disc. What has been the funniest thing I have seen in ages though, would have to be the MTV Panel in which Josh Gad attempts to do an Q&A with the rest of the cast via a satellite feed but due to a technical glitch, no one can hear him. He becomes extremely angry and flips out and it is absolutely hysterical. That alone is worth the buying the DVD.

The Rocker is definitely something to look into purchasing on DVD, despite what its box office gross might have been. It's a great comedy and the content you'll get is top notch. This is one to add to the collection.
