Dec. 6 According to Playbill, the Broadway Beatles tribute, Rain, will extend for 16 more weeks at a new venue. Rain - A Tribute to the Beatles on Broadway began in October at the Neil Simon Theatre where, after seven weeks of performances, the show made $2 million. On Jan. 15, 2011, performances will end at the Neil Simon Theatre because the stage is already booked for spring. Starting Feb. 8, 2011, the show will be relocated to the Brooks Atkinson. Dec. 6 Hayley Williams and her band mates showed their appreciation for the troops Friday at the VH1 Divas Salute the Troops event, which aired Sunday night. Other performers included Keri Hilson, Nicki Minaj, Sugarland, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Nearly all of the entertainers got on stage to open the night with a twist on the classic war song, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” reports MTV News. Dec. 7 According to the Associated Press, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, 68, got together this week with band mates from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to record a webcast in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The band gathered at the historic Asbury Park Carousel House to play songs from The Promise, a recent album comprised of works dating throughout their careers. “It’s like we never left, Clemons said. “It’s always great to see each other - but we get right to work. . . . We didn’t get the chance to sit around and reminisce.” Dec. 8 The Black Eyed Peas’ new album, The Beginning, which sold 119,000 copies during the week, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 6, reports ABC News. It is unusual that Susan Boyle nabbed the No. 1 spot with The Gift, which sold 272,000 copies when The Beginning was anticipated to debut at No. 1. The group is familiar with the No. 1 spot. Their previous album, The E.N.D., sold 304,000 copies in the first week and debuted at No. 1 in June 2009. Dec. 10 Dr. Dre premiered the music video for his lead single, “Kush,” which leaked online last month. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the drop of his comeback album ever since he mentioned it in April 2002. XXL shares that the artist is preparing for the first quarter 2011 release of Detox. Dec. 12 According to Entertainment Weekly, the Glee cast delayed shooting their huge post-Super Bowl episode due to several members getting tonsillitis. Production to film one of the biggest musical numbers for the event will resume Monday.
