Two NEW images from Eclipse to steam up your screen!
Um, wow! Some up close & personal meadow moments there!
(primary image via newmoonmovie.org) What does the newly legal Lautner have planned for his birthday? You might be underwhelmed.
But that's not the end of surprises for our TayTay. According to HitFix he's just been cast for the Stretch Armstrong project (beginning in 2012)
"Lautner was already on board to bring Paramount's "Max Steel" to life, but now he's becoming another cinematic hero: "Stretch Armstrong." Based on the Hasbro toy, the Universal Picture will be a 3-D extravaganza that will give the character super powers in what we can only assume is a battle against the forces of evil (or possibly his evil brother Wretch Armstrong?).
Speaking to Deadline.com, Universal Pictures Co-Chairman Donna Langley said, "“In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch.”
Just in time for Taylor's 18th birthday, it's the new Jacob Black doll!
"The limited edition Jacob action figure, which comes a few (long-awaited!) months after Tonner debuted its Laurent, Victoria, James and “Hungry Edward” dolls during last July’s Comic-Con, will be shapeshifting released this summer. The cost of the 17-inch-tall, hard plastic and vinyl figure will be $149.99 and there are only a limited number (3000 to be exact!) being made, so Twilighters, this is a chance to own a piece of cinematic history!"
If $149.99 is a little rich for your blood, there's also the Jacob Black "Barbie" doll, produced by Mattel for $24.99
Would you spring for the $149.99 doll? Which doll do you think looks best? Let loose in the comments!
Now that you've got your Jacob Black doll to cuddle up to, who's going to watch over you while you sleep? Why this Edward Cullen wall decal, of course!

That's not the only DVD news. Summit is suing rival company Topics Entertainment. Examiner.com reports,
"Summit is suing rival Topics Entertainment over Topics' plans to release their own documentary, Forks: Bitten by Twilight. Also an exploration of the Forks area, the Topics DVD features cover art which Summit claims is too similar to the trademarked Twilight artwork. Summit claims that the cover art is deceptive and will hurt sales of their own documentary DVD. Executives at Summit are seeking an injunction and assorted damages."
It also turns out that fans aren't the only ones anxious about a start date for filming Breaking Dawn. According to On The Flix, RPattz is on edge as well,
"He stated, “It will be strange but it will be great just to be able to know what I’m doing. Not knowing when Breaking Dawn is going to shoot – because it changes all the time – is a kind of burden, to have this thing where you don’t know when it’s going to happen. So you’ve got to organize everything in your life around that and that can be difficult.”
Twilight Tweet Beat Yo, Taylor, Alex Meraz (AKA Paul of the wolf pack) is really happy for you and he's gonna let you finish your new movie Valentines Day but,
"Sorry Taylor but the movie Valentine's Day looks lame and desperate. It cries out, 'look we have all the biggest starz in 1 movie pleez watch!"
"P.S. it has nothing to do with the talented actors in the movie. I just don't like the producer & Directors' 'get rich quick skeem' nuff said."
About an hour later...
"Talk about biting the hand that feeds me...but I'm a wolf for crying out loud! I'll be careful next time I spill twitter all over everyone."
Want to follow the stars of the Twiverse on Twitter? No need to type your fingers to the bone searching for each profile! Thanks to Tweepml.com, you can find & follow them all in one step! The only account not on that list is Chaske aka Sam of the wolfpack. All of these accounts have been verified, unfortunately neither Robert nor Kristen have a twitter account.
According to Vanity Fair Robsten only made $12.5 million each for New Moon & Eclipse (not including the $1.5 million made on the back end profits from Twilight). This seems kind of measly considering that the Twilight franchise has made over $1 billion in the past year. Though, we should all know by now it's not all about the money for these stars.
KStew is continuing to help raise money for those affected in Haiti. As
"We hear the Twilight star will be on hand later this month at the opening of La Vida restaurant and lounge in Hollywood. The night will benefit the American Red Cross' recovery efforts on the disaster-stricken Caribbean island...Stewart's been busy working for the cause in other ways as well. As our pals over at the Awful Truth first told you last month, four people paid a nice sum of cash for a trip to the Sundance Film Festival to hang with Stewart."
"Pattinson is pitching in for a local Hawaiian Montessori school fundraising drive by donating autographed posters and a Twilight book for the Montessori Hale O Keiki’s annual fundraising gala, “The Orchid Ball.”Pattinson’s signed gear will go up for auction at “The Orchid Ball” on February 5th, and it appears that proceeds will go to benefit the local Montessori school program."
Ashley Greene gets in on the giving mood too. Check out these hilarious outtakes for the PSA she did with Justin Long for 'Teens For Jeans'
Just drop off any pair of your gently worn jeans to any Aéropostale store between January 19th and February 14th and we’ll make sure they get donated to a local homeless shelter or charity.
To say thanks, Aéropostale will give you an additional 25% off your next pair of jeans.
The first 100,000 pairs of jeans collected will be sent to support homeless teens in Haiti.
The official mission of the new campaign is as follows:
Twihards4Charity is a new social campaign that helps Twilight fans from all over the world make a difference by uniting them with a common goal - to give to those in need through charities and special causes. 211me has brought in sponsors, brands and support from celebrity favorites like Peter Facinelli to provide TwiHards with Twilight-themed products they love. In return, a portion of the proceeds from every sale will go to a designated cause or charity.
As a first chosen cause for the page to support, Twihards4Charity has teamed up with 1-800-Flowers, as Facinelli said, to offer Twilight fans (and others interested in participating, of course) a special Valentine's Day package that will go to benefit Haiti relief efforts by the American Red Cross.
As the charity's first offer, Twihards4Charity "brings you a Valentine's Day bouquet you can't pass up. Whether it's for your sweetheart, your best friend, or a fellow Twihard, this is a perfect gift to say 'Happy Valentine's Day.'" The details of the Valentine's Day offer from Twihards4Charity are as follows: for $49.95, the bouquet contains 12 long-stemmed red roses from 1-800-Flowers, as well as a Twilight giftcard and poster from Hallmark. For every bouquet sold, five dollars of the proceeds will go to Haiti. Details on ordering this bouquet are available the Twihards4Charity website."
"One manager said that “After the movie launched, we saw this spike in C30 sales. We didn’t know what had happened until we put two and two together.” In that particular dealership’s case, “The XC60,” used in New Moon, “at $32,995, has not seen the same spike in sales as the C30, at $24,600.”
Another dealer stated that he had patrons bringing their children to the lot to take photographs with their stock of the vehicles.
Others report a surge in sales for both the C30 and the XC60.“We have seen an increase in interest in both vehicles by the youngest of drivers, teens and twentysomethings, and beyond.”
Of course, if there is a bit of difference between the popularity of the vehicles, it might stem from the fact that the model used in New Moon was met, initially, with distaste from Twilightfans – both for the switch between films and for the fact that the car inNew Moon was not silver.
In the books - and most fans
do want the films to resemble the books as much as possible - the car that Edward Cullen drove was a shiny, silver Volvo, and Stephenie Meyer painted a picture herself of what the car looked like in her mind when writing the series by putting a picture of it on her websiteand stating "Edward's Volvo [is] the silver S60R (and I've been assured that the "R" part is essential)." While neither of the cars used in the films were exactly what Meyer described, the one for Twilightwas, at least, silver."
Unfortunately, not everyone's feeling that financial Twibump. From the NYT,
"Just last month, MSN.com issued an apology to the Quileute for intruding on its territory while videotaping a “Twilight” virtual tour in September. MSN.com sought permission from the Chamber of Commerce in nearby Forks, Wash., but didn’t pay the same courtesy to the Quileute. The video team trespassed onto a reservation cemetery and taped Quileute graves, including those of esteemed tribal leaders. These images were then set to macabre music and, in November, posted on MSN.com. The tribe quickly persuaded MSN.com to remove the Quileute images.
At the same time, like indigenous peoples around the globe, the Quileute want to be meaningful participants in the treatment of their own cultural property. This means, first and foremost, having their sovereignty and their culture respected by outsiders. The Quileute’s Web site tells visitors about the tribal laws that govern Quileute territory. One of these laws specifies that burial grounds and religious ceremonies are “sacred and not to be entered.” Had MSN acknowledged the tribe as a sovereign government, it might not have broken that rule. The Quileute believe that respect for Indian tribal sovereignty could likewise bridge cultural gaps between other Indian communities and outsiders.
Going forward, the Quileute should be engaged in the “Twilight” phenomenon. They should be able, first, to welcome Ms. Meyer to the reservation and introduce her to the Tribal Council and all the Quileute people. They should be consulted on projects where the Quileute name and culture are used to market products. And Quileute elders should be able to share with the world the true Quileute creation story, in which tribal members were transformed into humans from wolves (not vampire-fighting wolves).
Undoubtedly, the Quileute, whose remote reservation leaves them with few options for economic development, would also welcome “Twilight”-based profit-sharing arrangements or other opportunities to capitalize on the phenomenon. They struggle to maintain adequate tribal housing and to support their tribal school, Elder Center and tribal court, all of which are integral to ensuring that their culture continues for future generations."
The Quileute play such an integral part in the Twiverse, they really deserve the financial bump that vendors like Hot Topic, Nordtstrom, and the tiny town of Forks, WA have been able to benefit from. There should plenty in this billion dollar franchise to go around. For a larger discussion on this issue, check out this post Twilight Profits and the Quileute People from the analytical blog, Seduced by Twilight.
Wow, Check out funny-or-die's new spoof, "Dark Moon"
"It started off at the autograph stand of the London Comi Con. I didnt know what picture to choose so because I was last before lunch I got extra time and so [Alex Meraz] came over and put his arm round me and was like “babes you gotta choose which picture you want me to sign” so he went ‘well u can have bum cheek (an art picture of Alex in his Nomak gear with his butt showing) or a New Moon still so I jokeingly pinched his bum and went “I’ve had bum cheek now its time for New Moon!’ We chatted for about 10mins and then I said ‘I’ll see you later for a picture’ and hugged him and he went ‘great I’ll see you then and you can have some hugs and kisses!’
So I wait in line for my photo he sees me goes “hey baby” grabs me pulled me into him and does this! My friend litually had her mouth on the floor…then when the photo came he signed it for free because he wanted to see how it turned out…

One wonders what Mrs. Meraz had to say!
