The Maji is in the houseSubmitted by Matt Rodriguez on Monday, December 22, 2008 - 3:58PMThis is Matt Rodriguez aka Majiesto to most of Shakefire. I am an avid movie goer and video gamer. Video games are my passion so video games shall be the subject of my blog. Of course I will post about other things but for now, lets take a look at what this year had to offer. 2009 is approaching fast and with it comes a slew of new and exciting games. As we move into the new year, we mustn't forget what 2008 has given us. Here's a look at some of the best games this year in no particular order... Metal Gear Solid 4 - An epic ending to one of the most epic stories in gaming LittleBigPlanet - Play, Create, and Share with one of the most innovative games of the year Super Smash Bros Brawl - Battle one another as your favorite Nintendo characters along with a few 3rd party supporters Gears of War 2 - Defend earth from the swarms of Locusts with stunning graphics and gameplay Grand Theft Auto IV - Go wherever you please and do what you please in the vast Liberty City Prince of Persia - Aid Elika in ridding her kingdom of the corruption; all in a beautiful cel-shaded environment Resistance 2 - Engage is massive online battle of up to 60 players with a variety of weapons at your disposal Fallout 3 - Create your own fate as you decide to do good or evil in this post apocalyptic warzone Burnout Paradise - With fast cars and massive crashes, it's no wonder there is so much to do in Paradise City Mirror's Edge - Make your own path through the city by jumping, climbing, and free running your way across rooftops It would seem like sequels takes the cake this year with only 2 new IPs making the list, LittleBigPlanet and Mirror's Edge. If you haven't played these games yet, then what are you waiting for? You don't want to be behind when 2009 comes around do you? |

I wasn't a huge fan of
I wasn't a huge fan of LittleBigPlanet, I just couldn't get into it. I love GTA IV though, especially the ability to just go to your cell phone for cheats instead of having to type in the code each time.
I haven't had a lot of time for games but I'm looking forward to playing Mirror's Edge, I love the idea of free running!
