CBS has opted for three more episodes of A Gifted Man. The Friday night rookie, which stars Patrick Wilson in his first series television role in a spiritual-tinged medical drama, has been a modest performer in its end-of-week 8 p.m slot. Thus far this season, the series has averaged 8.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the coveted 18 to 49 demo, making it consistently the most-watched program in timeslot and more than doubling its nearest competitor. No decision has been made about what will fill its place when its 16 episode season run is complete. (CBS announced mid-season premiere dates for its Rob Schneider comedy and Undercover Boss earlier Monday.) The network had already granted full season orders to its other freshman offerings, 2 Broke Girls, Person of Interest and Unforgettable. The fifth, How to Be A Gentleman, was quickly canceled. |
