Case Closed is an anime detective series that follows Jimmy Kudo, a 17-year-old boy detective who gets transformed into a child after ingesting a poison. Now he must continue to solve crimes while in his child form in hopes of finding the ones responsible for this fiasco.

Captured in Her Eyes is a movie spin-off where Jimmy aka Conan Edogawa must solve a series of police murders, one of which involves his friend and love Rachel. It's your typical who-dun-it story involving crime, death, and mystery.

Before the film begins, you're given a little backstory to the anime as to why Jimmy is now a little kid and a brief overview of some of the characters/gadgets he uses. It acts as a nice refresher but if you're new to the series (like myself) it can be a bit confusing. They detective story is good in that it actually requires a little intelligence to actually guess who the murderer is. Of course, all is revealed by the end so no worries if you can't.

If you enjoy this movie, there are plenty of others in the series as well as the regular anime. It's an enjoyable watch but not something I think I would follow. At times it can get a little to ridiculous with the various gadgets and the fact that a kid is somehow allowed to get involved with a police investigation.
