In all honesty I have never watched Hell on Wheels before now so I had no idea what was going on.  Being as I haven’t watched the show I was very lost when it first started, but as I started to get into it I really did enjoy the show.  I was kind of confused on a lot of the relationships between people that built up over the first two seasons.

The show starts off with Collen Bohannen in an old train in the middle of nowhere in the winter.  I assume that at the end of the 2nd season it explains how he got to that point but starting off with no idea what is going on I was extremely unsure about the show. As the show progresses Bohannen is trying to go up against Thomas Durrant who when first introduced is in prison.

I don’t really want to give anything away throughout the season but it does turn out really good.  After watching this season I really do want to watch the first two to figure out more what is going on.  A couple of things I didn’t like about the show were some of the scenes felt a little to drawn out.  There’s a scene where someone is getting hanged at it felt like 5 min of silence leading up to it just going back and forth between a couple of the actors.  While it was an emotional scene it went on a little to long for me.

The other thing I didn’t like was the ending.  The way it ended was just a little bland to me.  Though it did make me want to see what happens next so I guess it did what it was suppose to.

In terms of special features there’s a recap of all of the episodes and a couple of behind the scenes stuff.  There’s also a recap of what happened in season 2 but being as it was on the last disk I wasn’t able to watch it till after I finished the season.  Kind of wish I had watched it first to explain some stuff.  The other feature is a intro to season 3 that kind of gives you a description of what to expect.

All in all I thought that the show was very well done and I defiantly am going to try and catch season 4 if I have the time between reviews.
