Major League (BLU-RAY)

Major League

On Blu-Ray:
Tuesday, May 12, 2009
Running Time:
1 Hour, 47 Minutes

Charlie Sheen was a high school pitcher who was offered a baseball scholarship to the University of Kansas. In the movie he threw a 101mph fastball, but in reality Sheen could throw in the high 80s. This made it easier to simulate the fastball on film.

Wild thing, I think I love you.  I don't love Charlie Sheen but I do LIKE 80s Charlie Sheen (not that Two and a Half Men crap) and I love his performance in this now classic comedy.  His performance as Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn is the reason that this movie spawned 482 Sheen-less sequels.

Good.  The picture is a bit chalky as expected and the sound has a few crackles, but not enough to distract away from the comedy.

Featurettes, photo gallery, commentary, alternate ending.

If this were an action movie, the quality of the video and sound would be a huge disappointment.  Being a comedy, it's actually not that bad.  If you are looking for a cheap copy of the movie to watch, you are better off picking up the DVD.  If you are looking to upgrade all your old DVDs, then there is no need to wait for another release as this is probably about as good as it gets.
