Never Say Never Again

On Blu-Ray:

Running Time:
134 Minutes

This movie (1983) is a remake of the 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball, also starring Sean Connery, as a result of a long lawsuit between MGM, creator Ian Fleming and Taliafilms.

After a dozen year absence, Sean Connery returned as 007 in what ended up being one of the best performances of his James Bond career.  Kim Basinger takes up the role as the "Bond Girl" (one of the few to actually break out into an actual career).

Decent, but not great.  Grainy through the majority of the film.

Featurette, trailers, photo gallery, commentary.

In no way does this even come close to matching up to the brilliance and grittyness of the modern Daniel Craig 007 movies but it is amusing nonetheless.  It is full of action, absurd toys and sex (well, sexual situations at least).  The bonus features are amusing (more for the trivial gems provided by the director's commentary than the lackluster featurettes) but you will be buying this one for the fact that it's a Bond movie, not for the best quality.
