The Marine 2 (BLU-RAY)

The Marine 2

On Blu-Ray:
Tuesday, December 29, 2009
Running Time:
95 minutes

Professional wrestler Ted DiBiase stars in this action packed tale of a marine who ends up in the middle of a  hostage situation when all he wanted to do was relax on the beach with his wife. Ahh, the life of a marine...

The film includes some amazing shots of the tropical paradise with fantastic aerial and oceanic views. There are also plenty of scenes that are just meant for aesthetic purposes. Other than that though, the main storyline of the film doesn't stand out. The sound is what you would expect from an action flick filled with explosions and gunfire; loud and booming.

Commentary, Extended and Deleted Scenes, Deleted Shots Montage and Behind the Scenes featurettes.

The special features aren't exactly anything special. If you want to see much of the boring stuff cut from the film, then here you go. The only thing of any interest is the Shots Montage which shows some cinematic shots cut from the film accompanied by the soundtrack. It actually sums up the film quite nicely in a few minutes and looks great on Blu-ray.

Overall, The Marine 2 is just as you would imagine a straight-to-DVD release being. At times it looks great but there are plenty of other films out there that are better, both in terms of Blu-ray quality and film quality.
