I’d never heard of the animated children’s show Tickety Toc, but my introduction to the series was met with interest.

The premise of the show is that Tommy and Tallulah are two characters featured in an old fashioned animated clock. They spend their time, while not performing their routine for the time change, playing around in Tickety Town with their friends. Of course all fun must end when chime time comes around and Tommy and Tallulah must race back to their positions to perform their routines.

In this collection titled Spring Chicks Time, Tommy and Tallulah go on six adventures in Tickety Town. The first being all about the collection title where they intend to fly a kite but get stuck chick watching when Mama hen feels ill. Will they get their kite into the air or will the chicks be more then they can handle.

In another episode titled Nature Trail Time we find the duo heading out into the forest with McCoggins as their guide as they attempt to hunt down a rare butterfly that will only be seen in town once, ever. Using their five senses the duo attempt to help McCoggins make his dream come true.

Tommy and Tallulah spend half of their time in each episode learning and teaching as well as just being silly. Unfortunately the characters are a bit drab with voices that could rival the Charlie Brown series. A majority of the characters are pretty one dimensional as well. There’s no real defining moment for any of them or character attribute that’s catchy.

All in all I can see where there is some value in the series. The kids are well mannered and there are some educational lessons to be learned throughout. The show is just kind of, well boring. Small children might enjoy the colors and shapes but older kids might find it a bit boring.

Bonus features come down to a printable color & activity sheet.
