Artist: 4Hero and DK Marky Album: The Kings of Drum & Bass Genre: DJ/Dance Label: BBE Records Tracks: 34 Type: LP Release Date: February 16, 2010 Discs: 2 Rating: ( )Grade: A- Just as the title describes, this techno infused album features rapid synthesizer sequences along with some deep drum and bass. It's perfect for the raver in all of us. Half the album is done by 4Hero while the other half is taken over by DJ Marky. Each have their specific styles of drum and bass. 4Hero almost has a jazzy tune to it with the inclusion of pianos and a few brass instruments. Marky on the other hand, goes for a more straightforward approach using synthesizers. His is more upbeat and what we are more accustomed to nowadays. Both artists sounds fantastic, each with their own abilities. There are a few moments where the background music doesn't quite sync up with the foreground music but it's not too bothersome. The fact that you practically get two entire albums in one is a steal for any electronica enthusiast. If you're looking to spend a few hours listening to some great tunes, 4Hero and DJ Marky get the job done. No wonder the album is called The Kings of Drum & Bass. |
