“A Winter Gathering” is a Christmas album that was produced and sang by Shauna Burns. She also showcases her piano skills on the album. There is a decent mix of original songs by Shauna as well as her renditions of old Christmas carol favorites. She has an amazing voice and her work on the piano is majestic.

This is the perfect CD to listen to during the upcoming holiday season. The instrumentals were very calming and soothing. Shauna’s voice was pitch perfect and fit nicely to the theme of the cd. My favorite songs were “Luma” and “The Gathering” because of all the emotion and feelings Shauna puts into the lyrics and the instrumentals. Even though most of the songs did sound great, the only gripe I had was she did not change the classics enough to make them her own sound. It is a minor issue, but it still would have been nice to hear more variety from Shauna.

I am planning on playing this CD at my Christmas Party and I know it will bring a lot of holiday cheer to everyone. The CD is more on the traditional side, but I can’t get enough of Shauna’s voice and the relaxing instrumentals. The harp and piano really set the mood for the whole CD. For those reasons, I am giving this CD a “B-.”
