“Ad Astra” by Shevy Smith sounds like easy listening.  Shevy has a voice, but it is so mellow it sounds like elevator music.  I’m sure she would sound great at a live show with a full band. 

 
Now Ad Astra is a Latin term for “to the stars”.  Ok, I get it, you want to stand out and be different so much that you are and no one gets you…Well, I actually like that she has a title track to explain the name of her album, which just might be genius.  Especially for the curious who are like, “What does that mean?” and before you know it, you’ve listened to the entire album.  I believe she is an artist’s artist.  Very unique and seems to do what she wants to do and she wrote 99.99% of her album (just minus one song).  She gets much respect for that.  Anyway, the album wasn’t bad.  Very technically sound.
