Sing with Señor is an idea that came to middle school teacher Felipe Canete one day when he decided to bring his guitar to class and sing a simple song in Spanish that the students could sing along with. The kids loved it and asked him to write more. Canete did and soon found that this was a simple way to teach children the Spanish language, plus they were having fun doing it. Sing with Señor: Uno Dos (Songs for Learning Spanish) has arrived to spread Canete’s methods from his children to yours.

What’s so fantastic about Sing with Señor is that the music is very child oriented, yet accessible enough for parents not to have horrid flashbacks of the previous incarnations of kids music performers whose synthetic background noise became an enduring sacrifice you’d have to make in order for your children to learn while having fun. Canete plays guitar in a range from simple guitar plucking to Spanish style flamboyance. Vocals are also very smooth. The most important part of the whole project though is that the lyrics are very simple with a repetitive chorus to help children (and adults) get the accent correct while also engraining in their minds the meanings behind each word.
