Title: The Six Wives of Henry Lefay Genre: Comedy Starring: Tim Allen, Elisha Cuthbert, Jenna Elfman, Andie MacDowell, Paz Vega Director: Howard Michael Gould Studio: National Entertainment Media Runtime: 95 minutes Release Date: October 19, 2010 Format: DVD MPAA Rating: Rating: ( )Grade: F Henry Lefay (Tim Allen) is vacationing at the beach when a freak parasailing accident leaves him presumed dead. Now his only daughter Barby must plan the funeral with his SIX ex-wives. Naturally, each one of them wants to take control of the funeral arrangements with Barby left caught in the middle. The film is marketed as a comedy and Tim Allen has proven that he can be funny at times. Unfortunately, there is little humor involved. The dialogue is dry, unwitty, and overall boring. You are given no reason to care about any of the characters and they just seem to babble on about nonsense. Plus, the film deals with themes such as family acceptance, divorce, and other touchy subject. It's more fitting as a drama but even then it still lacks quality. As the film progresses it gets more and more ridiculous. People leave, people come back; it's just one confusing mess. Good luck making it to the end. Honestly, I can't recommend The Six Wives of Hnery Lefay. It tries too hard to not be a comedy but still attempts at humor. If you happen to come across this film, keep on walking as there's nothing to see here. |
