Title: Fired Up Genre: Comedy Starring: Sarah Roemer, Nicholas D'Agosto, Eric Christian Olsen, David Walton Director: Will Gluck Studio: Screen Gems Runtime: 90 minutes In Theatres: February 20, 2009 MPAA Rating: Rating: ( )Grade: D+ Give me an F! Give me a U! What does that spell? FU! FU indeed. Honestly, throughout the whole movie, my face was twisted between a configuration of bewilderment and surprise. Fired Up follows your two high school jock who play sports and get the girls. Shawn and Nick go on the ultimate girl search by joining cheerleading and going to camp with them. What starts out as a ploy to get the ladies, eventually turns into something more as they become part of a team and actually start to fall in love with cheerleading. This film is pretty much your average teen cheerleader movie. It has all the usual elements. Hot girls. Check. Gay guys. Check. Love story. Check. I actually don't think there was much original content in this one. There's really nothing new here and the entire film is highly predictable. Fired Up is one step above the Bring It On series, heck, they even have a whole scene quoting it. Nicholas D'Agosto (who you may remember as West from Heroes) and Eric Christian Olsen are your two ladies men. They're the kinda guys you wonder how they ever get all those girls. At times there are some funny moments but generally, it's more of a "what the heck is going on" type moment. Things do move pretty rapidly in the film. You will spend a good amount of time laughing watching Fired Up. I don't know if it's because the film's actually funny or you're just laughing out of the sheer stupidity of it. That'll be up for you to decide. All I can say for sure is that I don't want to hear another cheer for a very long time. |

A little old?
The guys in this movie look like they are in their 30's and still in high school. They would be more appropriate in a movie about high school reunions than high school cheerleading.
Other than a little old
Other than the fact that the blonde guy in the movie looking rather old, i thought it was actually a very good movie. It had me laughing the entire time
Good comedy
This movie was even better than I thought it would be. I was expecting another stupid teen movie, but instead it was really entertaining. I did not think the guys looked to old to be in high school. Well scripted and well shot movie.
Bring It On the Love story....
This movie was just like bring it on except for the guys making out with chicks and falling in love. I like cheerleader movies but this one was just not that good. I would'nt recommend it.
Fired Up
We both enjoyed this movie. Lots of laughs, some stupid , some not. Only one thing bothered us , too much sexual content for a PG 13 rating. Enjoyed it SF , thanks again for the pass.
FIRED UP
LOVED IT! I thought it was hilarious! Granted I had very little expectations prior to watching the movie so that may have helped. It had a good mix of stupid and smart humor.
ARE U Kidding ME... I missed
ARE U Kidding ME... I missed the screening so I paid to see this movie bc I love cheerleading it did not expect it to be a spoof. I truly wanted my money back. Glad I did not waist shakefires time with this one.
F U, Hollywood
This movie sucked.
Not only is it poorly made, but it's also the most chauvanistic and homophobic film of 2009 (so far). All the women are ditzy supermodels who swoon at every pickup line - even the one who sees through the leads' BS can't see her boyfriend is the same way. All the gay characters are stereotypically flamboyant and promiscuous (unless they're female, in which case they're there to be semi-erotic).
Hollywood is supposed to be progressive. But after watching a film like this, all I can think is: "We, are driving, we we, are driving... backwards."
