Show: Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple Season/Volume: Season 2 Part Two Genre: Action/Adventure, Anime Starring: Josh Grelle, Jason Liebrecht, Christopher R. Sabat, Sonny Strait, Carrie Savage Studio: Funimation Runtime: 290 minutes Release Date: May 25, 2010 Format: DVD Discs: 2 Rating: ( )Grade: A- Bonus Features Textless Songs, Trailers Ragnarok is starting to show cracks as some have changed sides to by Kenichi, creating more brawls and bigger fighters to join in the battles. Even Odin finally steps out of the shadows and enlightens Kenichi of his motivations and links not only their pasts together but Miu as well. But the trip down memory lane only lasts a short while as the remaining members of Ragnarok decide to put an end to the Shinpaku Alliance and bring the card members into play. Kenichi however is out for a special training session with Hayato and will have to rush back if he is going to help out his friends. As with all the other release there is a heavy dose of comedy/slapstick/goofiness mixed into the action/fighting/training. At times the comedy can be a little much; but usually it is reigned in just in time. There are also large breasted, in tight or little clothing running around fighting; but for what is lost in women’s lib on that front is made up for with their ability to not only fight but often defeat some of the toughest guy opponents. By this point though I’m sure you already know what Kenichi is like and if you enjoy the show. As far as this release I enjoyed seeing them tie Kenichi, Mui, and Odin together as children. There are tons of fights and battles going on and while it seems like the Ragnarok story maybe coming to an end a new story is opening up as a past disciple appears. It fits well with the rest of the story and only develops Kenichi as he grows in maturity and strength. |
