Show: Squidbillies Season/Volume: 3 Genre: Comedy Starring: Unknown Hinson, Daniel McDevitt, Dana Snyder, Bobby Ellerbee, Patricia French Studio: Cartoon Network Runtime: 101 minutes Release Date: July 6, 2010 Format: DVD Rating: ( )Grade: D Volume 3 of Squidbillies is actually a little more tame on the violence and bloodshed than Volume 2. Still, that doesn't mean it's less vulgar than half the stuff out there already. The show takes us back way down South to Georgia where the squids live in the mess that they call home. Typically Early and his family are the dumbest of dumb although Rusty has an intelligent thought every now and the. This season, you'll see more of the same hillbilly action. Volume 3 is the most lacking of all the seasons mainly due to the fact that there are only 10 episodes in the set, compared to 20 in previous editions. Navigating the menues on the disc is like travelling though a minefield. There is absolutely no organization whatsoever as the episodes are just scattered about on screen. I guess they wanted to make it as hillbilly as possible. The show itself is either a hit or miss. All you need to do is watch one episode to know if you love it or absolutely hate it. I don't think there's a middle ground for this one. The humor is very dull and mainly focuses on the stupidity of the characters. It's definitely not for most people but there is a crowd for it, however small it might be. Honestly though, it's difficult to recommend Volume 3, unless you are one of the hardcore followers of the show. Even then it would be pretty difficult to do so. Stick to watching the show on Adult Swim and save your money for a DVD that's worth it. |
