Artist: Lexia Album: Underground Sounds Label: Breaksilence Records Tracks: 12 Type: LP Release Date: October 12, 2010 Discs: 1 Rating: ( )Grade: C- Sigh. Ok, here we go. So you’ve got a hardcore/metalcore band by the name Eyes Set To Kill. Their female lead singer decides it’s time to branch out and do a side project. Thus we have Lexia. Her full name is Alexia, but who’s counting? Rather than dabbling in more heavy music, this album is full-on pop rock. And Lexia has a nice enough voice. It’s nothing earth shattering, but it’s pleasant in its own way. She sort of reminds me a bit of Lacey from Flyleaf on a few of the tracks. That being said, this album bored me to tears. Well, not quite to tears, but at least to multiple yawns. It’s just not that interesting. I will give her points for having the guts to cover a Radiohead song (Climbing Up The Walls). But in the end it’s just not enough. Fans of Eyes Set To Kill might want to check this out…but unless you’re in serious need of a female pop fix, I’d steer clear of this. |
