Genre: Other Studio: A&E Home Video Runtime: 18 hours and 50 minutes Release Date: January 12, 2011 Format: DVD Discs: 8 Rating: ( )Grade: A- Everyone knows the San Francisco Giants won the 2010 World Series. If you don't, you obviously must not be a baseball fan and reading this review won't matter to you either way. This Collector's Edition features all five World Series Games against the Texas Rangers as well as NLCS Games 4 and 6 against the Philadelphia Phillies. In addition, it includes a slew of bonus features that chronicles the Giants' excellent 2010 season with highlights, celebrations, and milestones. For a Giants fan, this collection is a must. Watching every World Series game is nice but what makes this collection so great is all the little facts that cover every inch of the eight DVD cases in the set. On the front, there is trivia and facts regarding each game. On the back, stats for each team plaster the cover. There is even a inning-by-inning play call on the inside cover of each case. If you wanted to know anything about the Giants' trip to the World Series, I bet you can find it on the covers. Not only is this set great for Giants fans but I think anyone with a passion for baseball can appreciate it. It's clear that this is a well put together set, with stats and facts littering every inch of the collector's edition. I only wish that it were available on Blu-ray in HD, as the games would have looked far better. Still, if you want to re-live the final moments of Game 5, The 2010 Worlds Series Collector's Edition is the way to go. |
